Box 15 Requested to Warehouse Fire the Southwest Side May 4, 2009
Posted by kcmh in News.trackback
Box 15 was requested by Bn-5 for rehab on Sunday evening May 3rd for a warehouse fire at 1300 Norton Rd. The fire came into the alarm office as a fire alarm and when the first units arrived a working fire assignment was struck. Inside the warehouse crews found smoldering piles of paper, lots of smoke and only small amounts of fire. Crews with forklifts and Bobcats helped with removing the stacks of paper products.
Box 15 crews were requested well into the fire being contained, but were able to still serve 50+ firefighters six cases of water and a gallon of coffee and hot chocolate. Box 15 crews remained on scene for 3 hours and were released just after midnight.
